How IQTitle Works
A transparent look at what the analyzer actually measures, how it's weighted, and — just as important — what it deliberately does not claim to predict.
Type or paste a title
Nothing is uploaded — the textarea's contents never leave your browser tab.
Nine factors are scored
Clarity, specificity, curiosity, click appeal, emotion, length, keywords, search relevance, and numbers each get an independent, transparent score.
Weaknesses adjust the total
Red flags like clickbait phrasing or absolute claims apply a direct penalty to the weighted overall score — not just a separate note.
You get reasons, not just a number
Every factor and flag links to a plain-language "why it matters" and specific, practical fixes.
The short version
IQTitle runs a rule-based analysis engine entirely in your browser. It looks at the words, structure, punctuation, and length of your title and scores nine writing-quality factors. Each factor has a transparent explanation — there's no hidden model and no external service involved, so the same title always produces the same, explainable result.
The nine factors
Clarity
Clarity measures whether the title communicates a concrete subject and angle without needing extra context. IQTitle checks for vague filler words, excessive capitalization, and whether the topic or format is identifiable at a glance.
Specificity
Specificity looks for numbers, named tools, brands, games, or places instead of generic categories. Specific titles set an accurate, checkable expectation.
Curiosity
Curiosity checks for question framing, open loops, and 'why/how' structures that make a viewer want the answer — as long as the video actually delivers it.
Click Appeal
Click appeal combines hook words, structure, and specificity into a single measure of how much a title stands out in a row of thumbnails — separate from whether the claim is honest, which is covered by the weaknesses check.
Emotional Impact
Emotional impact detects whether a title carries excitement, urgency, curiosity, or another recognizable tone — which helps it stand out against flat, purely descriptive titles.
Title Length
Length checks your character count against the ranges that typically display in full across search results, suggested videos, and mobile — roughly 40–60 characters — and flags titles likely to truncate.
Keyword Usage
Keyword usage checks whether a meaningful topic word appears near the start of the title, and flags repetition that looks like keyword stuffing rather than natural phrasing.
Search Relevance
Search relevance estimates whether the phrasing mirrors natural search language — including format words like 'review', 'how to', or 'vs' — rather than internal jargon.
Numbers & Specificity
This factor checks whether a number (a count, a year, a version) is present and used cleanly, since a single accurate number often gives viewers a concrete, scannable anchor.
How the overall score is weighted
The overall score is a weighted average of all nine factors. Clarity, title length, and keyword usage carry slightly more weight, since they have the most direct effect on whether a title is understandable at a glance and displays correctly across YouTube's surfaces. The remaining factors are weighted more evenly.
What this tool does not do
IQTitle never predicts or guarantees views, click-through rate, search ranking, subscriber growth, or virality. Those outcomes depend on your thumbnail, your existing audience, publish timing, watch time, and YouTube's own recommendation systems — none of which a title analyzer can see. Every score here is a writing-quality estimate, not a performance forecast.
It also doesn't know your specific audience's taste, your channel's established voice, or your thumbnail — three things that matter enormously to a title's real-world performance. Treat the report as a structured second opinion on the words themselves, not a final verdict.
Privacy by design
Because the entire analysis runs client-side in plain JavaScript, no title you type is ever sent to a server, logged, or stored. Closing or refreshing the page clears it completely.
